Foundations for Developing Phonemic Awareness Skills #3 - Sentences & Words: Activities to help children learn structure and meaning of language. Understanding that language is made up of sentences and that sentences are made up of words will enable children to divide words into syllables and into individual phonemes (sounds)
Foundations for Developing Phonemic Awareness Skills #4 - Compound Words: Series of games using compound words to teach children how to break words apart into syllables--dividing words into units of meaning where each syllable is a word with its own meaning
Foundations for Developing Phonemic Awareness Skills #5 - Syllables: Series of games involving words with up to four syllables. Teach children to divide words into their own syllables by feeling and hearing the different parts, and to blend syllables into words. The ability to divide words into syllables is the gateway to being able to analyze the individual sounds in words. A child who cannot hear syllables will have great difficulty hearing individual sounds (phonemes), which will lead to difficulty with spelling and reading.

Foundations for Developing Phonemic Awareness Skills #8 - Ending Sounds: Activities to help students learn to analyze ending consonant (final sound) in words
Foundations for Developing Phonemic Awareness Skills #9 - Digraphs: Activities to help students recognize single sounds that are represented in writing with two letters (e.g. ch, th, sh, wh, and ng)
Foundations for Developing Phonemic Awareness Skills #11 - Consonant Blends:
Activities to help students hear, isolate, and manipulate initial consonant blends found at the beginning of a word.
